Doctors and techs are kind. Practice could be more effective

As a first-time puppy owner, I relied on the guidance provided by this clinic when enrolling in their wellness plan. A vet tech specifically told me that flea, tick, and heartworm prevention were included along with first-year vaccinations, which was the main reason I signed up. At a later visit, I was told those medications were not included and would cost extra. When I chose to cancel the plan because it had been misrepresented, I was told I still owed money for services rendered. What makes that especially frustrating is that some of those services were only approved because I believed they were covered under the wellness plan. Had the plan been explained accurately, I would not have agreed to them. What bothered me most was the lack of accountability. The clinic would not honor what was communicated to me when the plan was sold, yet had no problem charging for services my puppy had already received through her breeder or would never receive through their office. After discussing the situation with the puppy store that originally recommended Barker, I learned that many wellness plans are designed primarily to generate recurring revenue for the practice. Unfortunately, after my experience, that's exactly how this one felt. I trusted the information provided by the staff when making healthcare decisions for my puppy, and I learned that lesson the hard way. I cannot recommend this practice based on my experience.

Excellent veterinary clinic! The staff was caring, professional, and treated my pet with great compassion. The veterinarian was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to answer all my questions. Highly recommend!
